How to Download Instagram Videos on Android

Saving Instagram videos on Android

Android makes this easy because the browser just downloads the file to your phone with no fuss. Two routes again: a browser, or the app.

The browser way

Open Instagram, go to the video or Reel, tap the share icon, and choose Copy link. Open Chrome or whatever browser you use and head to VDFR. Paste the link, tap Download, choose a quality, and the file lands in your Downloads folder. Most phones also show it in the gallery.

The app way

If you save videos often, the VDFR app on Google Play is quicker. It adds VDFR to the Android share menu. You tap Share on an Instagram post, pick VDFR, and the download starts right away. No browser, no pasting links.

Where the file ends up

By default it goes to Downloads. If you cannot find it, open your Files app and look there, or check the gallery. Some phones tuck downloaded videos into a separate album.

If a download fails

Same as anywhere: the post is private, deleted, or the link is broken. Recopy the link and try again, and check the troubleshooting guide if it keeps happening.

On an iPhone instead? Here is the iPhone guide.

VDFR is free to use

Paste a link from Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, or any app we support and save the video in a couple of seconds. No login, no limits.
