Saving a Reel you like

Reels are the part of Instagram most people want to keep. A recipe, a workout, a clip that is genuinely funny. The trouble is the in-app save button only bookmarks it for you. It does not put a video file on your phone, and the bookmark disappears the moment the original is deleted.

To actually save the file, you copy the Reel link and run it through VDFR.

The steps

Open the Reel. Tap the paper plane share icon, then choose Copy link. Come back to VDFR, paste the link into the box, and press Download. Pick your quality and the Reel saves to your device.

On a computer it is the same, you just copy the URL from the address bar instead.

Will it keep the audio

Yes. The download includes the original sound. If a Reel ever comes through silent, the post probably had its audio muted or removed on Instagram's side. We go into that in the troubleshooting guide.

Quality

The faster way on a phone

If you save Reels all the time, copying links is the slow part. The VDFR app for Android and iPhone adds VDFR to the share sheet, so you tap Share on a Reel, pick VDFR, and it downloads. No browser, no pasting.
